Since Boerne’s Main Street is a TxDOT highway, it will close on a very limited basis. For Dickens on Main, Main Street will be closed to traffic Friday and Saturday, November 29th and 30th, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Main Street will close again for the Weihnachts Parade and shopping on Saturday, December 7th, 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Main Street will not be closed any other days through the holidays. During scheduled closures, cars not removed from Main Street from River Road to Blanco Road will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

Absolutely! While shops are independently owned, most will open each day at 10 a.m. and be open until at least 9 p.m. Come early to shop and grab some lunch before the crowds arrive and stay for each weekend’s festivities of Celebrate the Holidays in Boerne! We strongly encourage you to check with your favorite eateries early about reservations for lunch or dinner, to ensure availability.

It varies, but many do accept credit and debit card payments. We recommend you bring some cash with you and there will be ATM machines on site for Dickens on Main & the Weihnachts Parade.

Celebrate the Holidays in Boerne! events take place in the very heart of Boerne’s historic downtown. PLEASE BE AWARE that during Dickens on Main and Weihnachts Parade day, all vehicles must be removed from Main Street between River Road and Blanco Road by 2:30 p.m. when the street begins to close. Cars not removed prior to 2:30 p.m. are subject to towing at the owner’s expense. . Boerne’s downtown is surrounded by neighborhoods and businesses where you can park on the street. There is parking available in several public lots like the Visitors Center, City Hall, and the Patrick Heath Public Library. All public parking is on a first-come basis.

Due to public safety concerns, we ask you to leave all pets at home. Dickens on Main and the Weihnachts Parade are very large family events with lots of children and food. For the safety of all guests and your pets please do not bring any pets to these highly-attended events. We greatly appreciate your help!

Yes! Portable toilets will be available throughout Dickens on Main and the Weihnachts Parade, including several ADA accessible units. There are also ADA accessible brick and mortar restrooms at the parking lot near Richter’s Tavern at 153 Main Street (paid parking) and at Water Works Terrace at the back of Main Plaza near the ice rink.

There are several restaurants and breweries in downtown Boerne and food trucks and booths will be stationed throughout Dickens on Main. We strongly encourage you to check with your favorite restaurants early about reservations for lunch or dinner to ensure availability.

Dickens on Main and the Weihnachts Parade take place along Boerne’s Main Street. During Dickens, we have vendors in several venues that are wheelchair accessible. The events do not provide wheelchairs for use or rent.
